What EHR Software Does
An electronic health record system stores and manages patient health information across encounters, providers, and time. At its core, an EHR captures clinical documentation, diagnoses, medications, lab results, and care plans. Modern EHR systems also manage scheduling, billing, referral coordination, lab and imaging orders, and population health reporting.
